The Smallest Lop

Holland Lops are a popular breed that is very competitive in the showroom. They make great pets as well as show animals due to there small size and calm demeanor.

What To Look For

For Show:  There are many things to look for when buying a show Holland Lop. I would recommend looking at the Standard of Perfection and comparing it to the potential rabbit. One of the most common faults in Holland Lops is a slipped crown, which is when the ears do not sit directly on top of the head. This is not a disqualification but a fault. Other things to look at are the size of the head and that they have a stocky build especially in bucks. Fur and Feathers can not guarantee how an animal will do on the show table, but I can tell you how I think an animal will do.

For Breeders: Holland Lops don't exactly make great breeder animals. It isn't that hard, but failed pregnancies aren't uncommon in Holland Lops. If you are looking for a breeder, it is well worth the money to buy a proven animal.

For Pets: Holland Lops make great pets! They are the ideal pet bunny with their floppy ears, adorable face, and tendency to get along well with people and not get excited easily. For a pet, either gender will work just fine. I would recommend a buck because they tend to be a little calmer than females, but if you want two rabbits, get two does as bucks will fight.
